    Course Details 

    By law it is a requirement that all full time, part time and casual staff members involved in the sale, supply or promotion of alcohol must be trained in the responsible service of alcohol. 

    RSA training covers roles such as those of: 

    • Bar Staff
    • Bottle Shop Attendants
    • Waiters
    • Security Officers / Crowd Controllers
    • Flight Attendants
    • Licensed Club Staff
    • Volunteers Working at Licensed functions
    • Concierge

    Paragon Corporate Training's RSA Course deals with the skills and knowledge required to satisfy the requirements for responsible service of alcohol under State & Territory legislation. Evidence of competence must include demonstrated knowledge of harm Minimisation principles which focuses on the responsible service of alcohol to patrons on licensed premises including hotels, taverns, night clubs and restaurants.

    The RSA training course will also provide you with an understanding of the underpinning reasons for and benefits of responsible service of alcohol reforms.

    Course Components

    The RSA Course is conducted in two parts.

    1. RSA Theory Component

    You are required to complete a theory test which can be done in your own time. Upon payment, we will email you a student guide and theory test (word doc). You will be required to read the information in the student guide and answer the questions in the word document. Once completed simply save it and email it back to our office for assessment.

    2. RSA Practical Training Component

    (if you have worked in a bar previously you do not need to complete the practical however, we will require a copy of your resume showing your experience).

    If you have not worked in the liquor industry then you will be required to demonstrate various skills in a bar environment. You will be required to attend for approximately an hour.

    Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

    If you have experience in a bar or liquor industry then you can obtain RPL. You will be required to complete the theory test however, you will not need to do the practical. You will need to provide a copy of your resume showing your experience.

    On-site RSA Training 

    If you have staff who are required to be trained in a group we can come to you. A minimum number of eight participants is required.
